Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation surgery will benefit women with breasts that are small, for causes ranging from lack of development, loss of size following childbirth, weight loss, or simply to enhance breast appearance. Breast augmentation involves the surgical placement of breast implants to increase the fullness and projection of the breasts. Breasts that are asymmetric or not equal in size can be improved with breast augmentation. When breasts exhibit sagging due to age, weight loss, or following pregnancy, a lift procedure (mastopexy) may also be advised. Dr. Davis will evaluate you and your individual needs to determine the best surgical procedure to accomplish your goals. Dr. Davis will employ a small incision, underneath the breast (inframammary crease), to place the implant. The sutures placed are absorbable. The patients leave the surgical suite in a soft circumferential dressing. The patients can resume normal activity within a few days. Strenuous exercise can be resumed in approximately four weeks.

The implants utilized are saline or silicone gel implants. Silicone gel implants may give you a more natural and softer result. Saline implants may also give an excellent result in selected patients.

Breast augmentation is performed as an outpatient procedure, under general anesthesia.
